Virginia “Ginny” L. Burtscher, 82 of Erie, MI, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 27, 2015, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 28, 1932, in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Peter and Virginia (Sweatt) Sturniolo. She married Harry Burtscher on May 1, 1948, he preceded her in death on June 11, 2009. Ginny was employed as a waitress for the former Dyer’s Chop House. She was a faithful member and servant of Crossroads Community Church in Ottawa Lake, MI. Ginny will be remembered for her unconditional love for all and limitless amount of hugs and kisses.
She is survived by her loving children, Marie “Toni” (Edward) Boyce, Duane “Butch” (Diana) Burtscher, Fred (Shelia) Burtscher, Mark (Misti) Burtscher, Michelle “Shelly” (Barry) Christy and Edward (Virginia Lee “Jenny”) Burtscher. Sisters, Thomasina “Tonna” Kenoyer, Carol Lee (Jerry) Gilmore, Sandra “Sandy” Saltzman, Carol Ann (Al) Kampe, 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Robinson, and brother-in-laws, Don Robinson and Dick Kenoyer.
Visitation will be from 2-9 pm Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Crossroads Community Church, 6960 Sylvania-Petersburg Rd, Ottawa Lake, MI 49267, where she will lie in state after 10:00 am. Pastor John Clark, Pastor Dean Angell and Pastor Glenn Teal, officiating. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the church. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
